NASSAU, BAHAMAS – UNCW (4-3) rallied back from a 14-point deficit in the second half to defeat Vermont (2-6) 68-66 on Day 2 of the Nassau Championship on Saturday night at Baha Mar Convention Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Seahawks grabbed the first lead of the game, and held it until the 11:00 mark when Kam Gibson drilled three-pointer on a fast break to knot the game at 9-9.
- Vermont took the lead the minutes later on a pair of free throws by Dylan Penn. The guard made a driving layup shortly after to give the Cats a 13-10 lead with 7:43 left in the half.
- UVM stretched its lead later on with a 12-1 run that spanned over 2:56 to go up 25-13. Robin Duncan converted on a pair of three-point plays and Penn added six points in the run.
- Aaron Deloney sank a triple with 1:57 left to put the Cats up 32-19. The 13-point lead was Vermont's largest of the half. The Catamounts would take a 33-23 lead into the break.
- Two quick baskets to start the second half gave Vermont a 14-point lead. UNCW brought the lead back to single-digits on multiple occasions, but a pair of treys by Finn Sullivan put the Cats up 51-37 with 12:20 remaining.
- The Seahawks rattled off a 16-0 run over 4:45 to take a lead for the first time since the middle of the first half. UNCW's Donavan Newby and Trazarien White hit a pair of free throws each with 7:24 left to take the 53-51 lead.
- Penn and Gibson scored on consecutive trips for the Catamounts to briefly pull the game even at 55-55 with 5:38 remaining. UNCW would go back on the attack and take a seven-point lead with 1:28 left on the clock. Vermont would pull to within a possession, but it came in the form of a buzzer-beating layup by TJ Hurley.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Penn scored a team-high 21 points for the Catamounts on an efficient 6-for-9 night from the floor. The fifth-year senior made 9-of-10 free throws, and added four rebounds to his stat line.
- Duncan flirted with a double-double, scoring 13 points and nine rebounds. The UVM guard went 5-for-6 from the floor and converted a trio of free throws.
- Deloney and Sullivan were also in double figures with 11 points each. The Catamount duo both sank three treys.
