DURHAM, NH – Vermont came up just short despite late second half pressure falling to New Hampshire 1-0 in a close hard-fought battle in Durham, New Hampshire on Sunday afternoon. The Catamounts fell to 4-8-2 and 0-4-2 in the America East while the Wildcats improved to 7-5-1 and 4-1-1 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vermont and New Hampshire played to a scoreless first half with each team having one good chance apiece. The Wildcats almost struck first on a corner in the 26th minute when Ella Dudley sent a header high that Erin Murphy was able to tip off the crossbar, Gudrun Haralz settled the rebound and rifled another shot that Murphy again saved, punching it over the bar.
- The Catamounts best chance came on a breakaway in the 29th minute when Abbey Knobel connected with Karen Wallace at the top of the 18-yard box, but Wallace's shot skidded just past the left post.
- Ella Dudley broke the scoreless tie with a goal in the 55th minute for the Wildcats. She fired a ball into the upper left hand corner to give UNH a 1-0 lead, which would be the final score.
- The Catamounts registered several shots in the second half but were never able to put a good chance on frame to close the gap.
- Bailey Ayer and Olivia White were both able to get good looks in the 81st and 82nd minute but Cat Sheppard made a good save on Ayer's shot, and White's sailed just high over the crossbar.
