BURLINGTON, Vt. – Junior guard
Emma Utterback had 21 points, five assists and two steals leading Vermont in a 73-55 win over Hartford Friday afternoon at Patrick Gym. With the win, the Catamounts improved to 4-2 in league play while the Hawks fell to 1-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Delaney Richason and Utterback led the Catamounts in a back and forth first quarter. Both of them had five points. UVM's largest lead of the quarter was three points, they took a 14-13 lead into the second.
- The Catamounts used a 7-0 run over 61 seconds of game action to take a 23-16 lead with 7:18 left in the half. The run was started with a Catherine Gilwee three-pointer. Then the Catamounts utilized an 11-0 run over 3:33 late in the half with key buckets from first years Bella Vito and Maria Myklebust to take a 13-point lead into the half.
- Early in the third quarter it was the Richason show. She went on a personal 8-0 run over 1:22 of game action. Hartford answered with a 9-2 run late in the quarter but UVM took at 12-point edge to the final frame.
- An 8-2 UVM run to start the final frame put the game out of reach for good for the Catamounts.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- On Friday afternoon Vermont forced 27 turnovers and scored 37 points off those miscues. The 27 turnovers by the Hawks are the most by a UVM opponent this season.
- Senior guard Sarah Wells set a new career-high with 13 rebounds Friday afternoon. She also had a season-high nine points, five assists and four steals.
