WOMEN'S BASKETBALL NOTEBOOK
Vermont (9-7, 3-2) will face Hartford (1-14, 1-3) in a two-game home-and-home weekend series. The Catamounts will host the Hawks at Patrick Gym Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. before traveling to Hartford for a 1 p.m. contest Sunday afternoon. Both games will air live on ESPN3. Fans can also listen live with Cooper Boardman on the call on AM 620 WVMT.

LARKINS ON SPORTSCENTER THURSDAY MORNING
At the end of the third quarter Wednesday night
Josie Larkins drained a half court shot for the Catamounts. On Thursday morning, it was showcased on SportsCenter as the number nine play of the night before.

FOUR STARTERS IN DOUBLE FIGURES
Vermont's four starters who have started every game this season –
Emma Utterback (11.6 PPG),
Josie Larkins (12.9 PPG),
Delaney Richason (10.1 PPG) and
Anna Olson (11.6 PPG) are leading the Catamounts all scoring in double figures. All four of them play an average of 28.8 minutes or more per game.
On Wednesday night against NJIT all five starters for the Catamounts reached double figures.
Anna Olson led the way for Vermont with 15 points.
LARKINS HAVING A CAREER-YEAR FROM DOWNTOWN
Graduate guard
Josie Larkins is 19th in the NCAA currently shooting a career-best 44.3% from behind the arc. She's made 47 three-pointers this year which is tied for 13th in the NCAA. She is second all-time at UVM in made three-pointers with 207.
ALL STARTS ON THE DEFENSIVE END
UVM is second in America East on the defensive end this season giving up 55.3 points per game. In the Catamounts nine wins this year they've given up just 47.6 points per game. Vermont is also second in America East averaging 3.8 blocked shots per game. UVM forward
Anna Olson is second in the league averaging 1.6 blocks per game.
LIMITING OPPONENTS TRIPS TO THE LINE
The Catamounts are averaging just 13.6 fouls-per game this season which is the 23rd fewest in the NCAA. As a team in 16 games they have committed just 217 personal fouls. UVM committed a season-low eight fouls at Navy on November 20.
SCOUTING HARTFORD
The Hawks are 1-14 this season and 1-3 in league play. On Monday, Hartford earned its first win of the season upsetting UAlbany 52-49, handing the Great Danes their first conference loss of the season. On Wednesday night, the Hawks dropped a three-point heartbreaker on the road at UNH with a buzzer beating heave from the Wildcats.
First year Head Coach Melissa Hodgdon has used 11 different starting lineups this season. Junior Carmen Villalobos is the only Hawk to have started all 15 contests this season. Graduate guard Abby Streeter leads the team in scoring with 10.7 points per game. She is shooting 43.6% from downtown this season.
SERIES HISTORY
Friday's game will be the 78th between UVM and Hartford. In 2020 UVM swept the season series with the Hawks for the first time since 2000 breaking a tie in the all-time series. UVM now holds a 39-37 edge. The Catamounts enjoyed 20 consecutive wins in the series from 1990 to 2000.

Due to the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases in the region, guest spectators will NOT be permitted inside Chase Arena at this time. ONLY student spectators and University of Hartford faculty and staff will be allowed to attend home basketball games during the month of January.
