BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Two early second-half goals pulled Vermont (2-0) away from Lehigh (0-2) as the Catamounts cruised to a 3-0 victory on Sunday afternoon. UVM's 2-0 start is the program's first in
Rob Dow's head coaching tenure. The Catamounts last opened a season with back-to-back wins in 2016.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The non-conference foes played a tight first 10 minutes with the Mountain Hawks earning the first scoring chance of the game. Euan Forrest directed a free kick off of the crossbar.
- Vermont forced a corner kick in the 14th minute, which was taken by Alex Nagy. The senior found Garrett Lillie in the box where he headed the game's first goal. The Cats took the 1-0 lead into the break.
- UVM continued to pressure Lehigh in the second half and Nacho Lerech converted his second goal of the season in the 55th minute. Nagy earned his second assist of the game with a cross to Lerech who fired a shot off the right woodwork and in. Matt Black was credited with the secondary assist.
- Black netted the first goal of his NCAA career minutes later when he beat Blake Koski (2 saves) on a breakaway in the 60th minute.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Black is the third Catamount to record a three-point game this season. Nagy and Lerech tallied three points each in the season opener at Iona (Aug. 26).
- Nagy led Vermont in shots with four total, including two on goal.
- Lillie's game-winning goal is his first since his sophomore season.
- Nate Silveira faced seven shots in 78 minutes of play and recorded two saves. Brendan Pulley made one save in the final 12 minutes.
- With today's win, Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate $100 to Vermont Foodbank as part of the Cats Win, Community Wins initiative.
