WOMEN'S BASKETBALL NOTEBOOK
Vermont women's basketball continues its first road swing of the 2021-22 season as they travel to Maryland to face Navy Saturday morning at 11 a.m. The game will air live Saturday on ESPN+. Fans can also listen live on the Vermont Sports Network, from Learfield IMG College on WVMT with the new voice of the Catamounts Cooper Boardman on the call.

BALANCED ATTACK THE EARLY STORYLINE FOR VERMONT
Through three games this season UVM is averaging 66.0 points-per game. Impressively seven Catamounts are averaging six or more points per contest right now.
Josie Larkins and
Anna Olson are tied for the team lead in scoring with 11.3 points-per game. No single player has scored more than 16 in a contest –
Emma Utterback, Olson and
Jane McCauley have each reached that mark in one of UVM's games.
FEELING IT FROM DOWNTOWN POUGHKEEPSIE
In the Catamounts, last game action on Sunday at Marist they hit a season-high 11 three-pointers. Junior guard
Jane McCauley hit five of those triples as a part of a career-high 16 points. The 11 triples were the most by the Catamounts since the 2019-20 campaign. They did it twice in the non-conference that season, against Bryant (11/17/19) and URI (11/25/19).
SCOUTING THE MIDS
Live the Catamounts Navy is 1-2 in the early stages of the season. The Mids picked up their first win of the campaign Tuesday defeating William & Mary 66-54. Navy is averaging 58 points-per game so far, this season. The Mids are led in scoring by a pair of senior guards. Jennifer Coleman is averaging 23.3 points-per game and Kolbi Green is averaging 13.7 points-per game. The duo has hit nine of Navy's 17 made three-point field goals this season.
Green had eight points and made two three-pointers in the teams' previous meeting at Patrick Gym on November 22, 2019.
Coleman was named to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team. She played in nine games last season averaging a double-double with 17.1 points and 11.3 rebounds. The Mids were selected to finish sixth in the Patriot League. UVM faced American last weekend who was selected fourth in the league and will potentially face Bucknell next weekend, they were chosen third in the league.
COVID-19 POLICIES FOR ATTENDING AT NAVY
Fans are reminded that the general public does not have access to drive their vehicles on to the U.S. Naval Academy. Fans may park at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium and take a shuttle that will run every 10 minutes starting one hour before the game and will continue running until one hour after the game is completed. Fans 18 and over need a government-issued photo ID. Enter Gate 5 off Taylor Ave. to park at the stadium. Masks will be required for all spectators that attend games at Alumni Hall regardless of vaccination status. Additionally, all fans will be required to wear a mask during their trip on the shuttle.
2021 TD BANK CLASSIC ON TAP FOR NEXT WEEKEND
Next weekend Vermont will welcome Brown, Bucknell and North Dakota to Patrick Gym for the 2021 edition of the TD Bank Classic. UVM will face Brown at noon on Saturday, November 27 followed by North Dakota and Bucknell at 3 p.m. On Sunday, there will be a championship game and a consolation contest. Regardless of the results North Dakota will play the early game at 11 a.m. followed by the second contest at 2 p.m. All games of the tournament will be broadcast on ESPN3 or ESPN+
AMERICA EAST PRESEASON POLL
The Catamounts were selected fourth in the 2021-22 America East Preseason Poll. Voting was conducted by the conference's women's basketball coaches, who were not allowed to vote for their own team. Stony Brook, the defending tournament champion, was picked to finish first, placing just four points ahead of second place Maine. The Black Bears were selected as league favorites in each of the last three seasons. Vermont and UMass Lowell were selected to round-out the coveted top-four positions. This year will be the third full season on the women's side where the entire America East tournament will take place on campus sites with the higher-seeded school hosting each game throughout the championship.
OLSON NAMED TO PRESEASON ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM
After earning Rookie of the Year, All Conference Third-Team and All-Rookie Team honors last season Olson was selected to the Preseason All-Conference Team this fall. She led the Catamounts last season with 13.3 points-per game and 6.8 rebounds-per game. She also averaged two assists a game. She helped lead Vermont to its best America East start through six games since the 2009-10 campaign.
RETURNING DEPTH FOR THE CATAMOUNTS
UVM returns 96.2% of its scoring from a season ago. All six Catamounts who started a game last season are back in the fold. UVM ended the season last year on a three-game win streak in league play, the third such instance in Mayer Women's Basketball Coach
