SCOUTING THE ENGINEERS
WPI enters Tuesday night's game with three straight wins to start the season. The Engineers recently won the Ted Coghlin Memorial Tournament with wins over Maine's St. Joseph's (W, 98-71) and Colby (W, 66-49). John Lowther leads the WPI offense, averaging 20.0 points per game. John Adams averages a double-double with 13.0 points per game and 10.0 rebounds per game. The Engineers were picked as NEWMAC preseason favorites.

AMERICA EAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Vermont guard
Ben Shungu was named America East Player of the Week after posting a league-high 23.0 scoring average in the first two games of the season. Shungu opened the season with a 19-point output in UVM's 71-57 win at Northern Iowa. The graduate student dropped a career-high 27 points on the road at No. 21 Maryland – Shungu had 20 points in the first half against the Terrapins.

DOUBLE FIGURES FOR SHUNGU AND POWELL
Ben Shungu and
Isaiah Powell are the two Catamounts to average double figures through two games this season. Shungu's league-best 23.0 points per game comes on 55.2% (16-of-29) shooting from the field. The South Burlington native has drilled 7-of-13 (53.8%) treys, which also leads the conference. Powell has averaged 15.5 points per game, opening up the season with 16 points in Vermont's victory over Northern Iowa. The senior recorded his first career double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds at No. 21 Maryland.
