UTTERBACK SHARING THE BALL
In Vermont's America East opener against UAlbany freshman guard
Emma Utterback posted a career-high ten assists. It was the most by a Catamount in a single game since Jordan Eisler had ten against St. Francis Brooklyn on 12/7/14. Since taking over as Vermont's point guard she has averaged 4.6 assists per game.

BLOCK PARTY CONTINUES
Despite losing the all-time program leader in blocks to graduation last year Vermont has continued to patrol the paint this season. The Catamounts have 63 blocked shots, which ranks 46th in the country and tops America East. Senior forward
Hanna Crymble leads the team with 28 blocks this season.

THREAT FROM DOWNTOWN
UVM is 53rd in the NCAA with 108 made three-pointers. The Catamounts lead the conference with 7.7 three-pointers made per game. Four Catamounts have made 10 or more triples this season and six Catamounts are shooting better than 34% from beyond the arc.
SCOUTING THE SEAWOLVES
Picked to finish second in the America East preseason polls, Stony Brook is enjoying the best start to a season in program history and have won 11-straight games. Through 15 games they have just one loss and have the 24
th best scoring defense in the nation, allowing 55.5 points-per-game. They return three starters from last year and add a graduate transfer in Kaela Hilaire from Seton Hall. Hilaire is averaging 13.0 points-per-game and is back in the lineup after missing two games with an injury.
The Seawolves are coming off a win over preseason conference favorite Maine. Preseason All-Conference junior India Pagan dropped a career high 26 points, shooting 13-for-14 from the field. It was the second-best shooting performance in program history and the best performance since 2004. On Monday she was named America East Player of the Week for her efforts.
SERIES HISTORY
After 17 years of the Catamounts battling the Seawolves, the series is tied. It has been a streaky series, but both teams have 19 wins against the other. Vermont won eight consecutive meetings from 2008 to 2011. Stony Brook has won each of the last five. Vermont's last win over the Seawolves was in February of 2017 on Long Island.
The teams met three times last year, including in back-to-back games. Stony Brook hosted Vermont to conclude the regular season, and then ended their season as a three-seed hosting the America East quarterfinals

CATHY INGLESE PATCHES
This season the Catamounts are wearing jersey patches to honor our former Head Coach Cathy Inglese. Inglese was the head coach at Vermont for seven seasons, from 1986 to 1993. She led UVM to unprecedented success with its first two conference titles, in 1992 and 1993, and its first two trips to the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship.
These patches will be worn at home and on the road this season to honor the memory of Coach Inglese who tragically passed away this summer.
