BURLINGTON, Vt. – In the first ever meeting between the programs, North Dakota State scored three times in the second half to hand Vermont a 3-0 setback on Friday night as a part of the TD Bank Classic. The Catamounts slip to 2-1-0 on the year while the Bison improve to 2-0-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Less than a minute after the opening kickoff, NDSU's Elyse Huber sent a shot on frame that forced UVM goalie Kacey Lambertson (2 saves) to make a diving save in the center of the net.
- The Catamounts countered on the offensive end of the field when Frances O'Donnell fired off two consecutive shots but NDSU's Monica Polgar (6 saves) successfully kept Vermont off the board.
- Huber broke the scoreless tie in the 49th minute. Off a throw in from Laura Powell, the forward hooked her shot inside of the far post from 20 yards out.
- The Bison doubled their lead two minutes later. Marian Taiwo worked the goal line and tapped a cross to Brookelyn Drew who snuck a low shot into the bottom left corner of the net. Â
- Huber added the final goal of the evening in the 62nd minute. She marched up the left side of the field and rifled a low line drive into the right side of the net.
GAME NOTES
- Alyssa Oviedo and O'Donnell led the Catamounts with four shots apiece.
- UVM has jumped out to a 2-1 start through three games for the fifth time in the last six years.
- Friday's match was Military Appreciation Night presented by Milton Cat. All local law enforcement and military personnel along with their families received free admission into the game.
