BURLINGTON, Vt. – All five starters for Vermont were in double figures as the Catamounts used a 19-4 run to start the game and never looked back defeating Canisius 76-53 Saturday afternoon from Patrick Gym in a non-conference matchup. With the win, the Catamounts improved to 4-6 this season while the Golden Griffins fell to 1-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vermont came flying out of the gate with a 10-0 run to open the game. The Catamounts extended their early advantage to 19-4 fueled by ten points scored in transition. Freshman guard Emma Utterback had eight points to lead UVM in the opening quarter.
- The Catamounts nailed three consecutive three-pointers to open the second quarter. Hanna Crymble, Jane McCauley, and Sarah Wells hit from deep in quick succession staking UVM to a 31-14 edge with 7:43 left in the half. UVM hit three more triples in second quarter and took a 46-34 lead into the half. Delaney Richason led all scorers with 13 points in the first half.
- In the third quarter UVM extended its lead to 20 points after back-to-back buckets from Utterback. The Catamounts outscored the Golden Griffins 16-10 in the quarter taking an 18-point edge to the fourth.
- Vermont opened the final frame with another impressive run. Josie Larkins scored five points as UVM used an 8-0 run to stretch its lead to 26. UVM cruised in from there for its second-straight home win by 20 or more points.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Catamounts scored 18 points on Canisius' 14 turnovers. UVM's seven turnovers this afternoon were a season-low against a Division I opponent.
- Hanna Crymble had 14 points and 11 rebounds for her third straight double-double. It's the second time this season she has posted three consecutive double-doubles.
- Delaney Richason (13 Points) and Sarah Wells (14 Points) set new career-highs in points.
- With the victory, the Cats Win, Community Wins campaign and Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate $100 to Make-A-Wish Vermont, bringing this year's total to 104 wins and $10,400. A special thank you to Vermont Mutual Insurance for their support.
