COACH'S QUOTE
"We have to want to play defense and until we fully commit ourselves on the defensive end for an entire game we are going to be on the wrong side of every outcome," said Head Coach
Alisa Kresge. "This is a process and it's going to take time.

- Vermont opened the second quarter on a 10-0 run in the first four minutes. Sarah Wells and Rose Caverly nailed three-pointers to give UVM a 23-13 lead and force a Red Flash timeout with 6:02 left in the half. The Catamounts took a six-point edge into the half.
- In the third quarter the Red Flash hit three consecutive three-pointers on their way to grabbing a 35-32 advantage. Utterback added seven more points for Vermont to reclaim the lead, including a three-pointer with 19 seconds left in the third quarter.
- In the final frame of regulation, the biggest lead was three on each side. With 1:49 left Josie Larkins put the Catamounts ahead by three only to have Swogger answer back with a shot from behind the arc with 52 seconds left. - The Catamounts defense tightened in overtime, they forced consecutive shot clock violations to open the extra session. Delaney Richason hit Vermont's only field goal in the first overtime session, which was answered 20 seconds later by SFU's Jada Dapaa. Both teams had an opportunity for a game-winner in the final minute but neither could convert.
- Crymble put the Catamounts ahead 69-67 with 58 seconds left in the second overtime period. Her 28 points were a game-high amongst the two teams. Swogger answered with a three-pointer on the next possession putting the Red Flash ahead.
- On the ensuing possession Crymble had a good look at a mid-range jumper but it missed and Phee Allen grabbed the rebound for SFU. Allen hit two free throws to seal the win for the Red Flash.
