Saturday against the Great Danes Vermont set a new America East and program record with 14 team blocks.
Candice Wright led the way matching her program single game record with eight blocks.

Hanna Crymble each had three as well. The Catamounts are averaging 6.07 blocks per game this season. Nobody else in America East is averaging four or more.
CRYMBLE LEADING THE WAY
Junior forward
Hanna Crymble leads the Catamounts in scoring with 15.9 PPG. She is fifth in America East in scoring. She has been Vermont's leading scorer in 10 of the Catamounts 14 games. She is shooting 50.6% from the field this season which is the second best mark in America East.
WRIGHT BLOCK PARTY
Candice Wright is Vermont's all-time block leader with 188 career blocks. This season she already has 47 blocks. She needs four more blocks to reset the single season Vermont record which is 50 blocks, she set the mark during her freshman campaign. She is averaging 3.4 blocks per game, which is tied for third in the NCAA.
SCOUTING MAINE
The defending America East champions, Maine is the only team currently 2-0 in conference play. They are ranked 25th in the College Insider Mid-Major Top-25. Maine played a very difficult non-conference slate which included a 12-point win at North Carolina and a 3-point loss at #20 Duke.
Junior guard Blanca Millan leads America East and Maine in scoring with 17.3 PPG. She has scored 20 or more points on six separate occasions this season. She netted a career-high 36 points against Brown on December 8. Last season against Vermont she averaged 22.5 points and was the top-scorer in each game.
Senior guard Parise Rossignol was named the America East Player of the Week after leading the Black Bears to their 2-0 start in conference play averaging 18.5 PPG, shooting 79% from the field including 7-for-10 from behind the arc. The 2018 America East Sixth Player of the Year is averaging 10.7 PPG this season.
SERIES HISTORY
Maine is Vermont's oldest rival, the teams have played 85 times, every season at least once since 1975-76. The Black Bears hold an 52-33 edge in the series. Maine is currently on a three-game winning streak against the Catamounts. The Black Bears swept the season series last year, defeating Vermont 64-55 in Bangor on January 15 and 79-47 at Patrick Gym on February 22.

Save the date for our annual Rally Against Cancer game, presented by Inspired Closets, Saturday January 26 when your Catamounts host Stony Brook at 2 p.m. Vermont will be wearing special edition lavender jerseys this year, the color the represents the fight against all cancers. Jerseys will be auctioned off following the game, with proceeds going to the UVM Cancer Center. Fans who donate $5 or more to the UVM Cancer Center at the door will receive a free ticket to the game.
