WOMEN'S BASKETBALL NOTEBOOK
Vermont (6-11, 2-3) hits the road Saturday for a matchup with Binghamton (7-10, 2-2) as they continue conference play at 12 p.m. Please note due to the forecast snowfall in the Northeast the game has been moved up from its original time of 2 p.m. The matchup can be heard on AM 620 WVMT with Maura Sheridan on the call. TEAM GAME GETS THE WIN ON WEDNESDAY

Alisa Kresge said, "Good things happen when we share the basketball and limit our turnovers." In the first half of their win over the Wildcats UVM assisted on 10 of their 15 made field goals. Freshman guard
Rose Caverly matched her career-high with six assists on the night. Five Catamounts scored nine or more points for the first-time this season against a Division I opponent. Vermont's 38 first half points were the most they have scored against Division I competition as well.

LARKINS AND HANDY COMING TO PLAY IN JANUARY
Josie Larkins and
Lauren Handy have been key contributors for the Catamounts in conference play. Larkins has averaged 7.8 PPG, and was Vermont's leading scorer with 14 points in the Catamounts conference win over UAlbany last week. Handy has averaged 9.0 PPG coming off the bench for Coach Kresge in America East action. She had a career-high four blocks against UNH Wednesday.

CRYMBLE LEADING THE WAY
Junior forward
Hanna Crymble leads the Catamounts in scoring with 15.4 PPG. She is fourth in America East in scoring. She has been Vermont's leading scorer in 13 of the Catamounts 17 games. She is shooting 52.4% from the field this season which is the second-best mark in America East. She is also shooting 85.5% from the free throw line, which is the best mark in the league.

WRIGHT BLOCK PARTY
Candice Wright is Vermont's all-time block leader with 194 career blocks. She is averaging 3.1 blocks per game, which is fifth in the NCAA. As a team Vermont is eighth in the NCAA averaging 5.9 blocks per game.

SCOUTING BINGHAMTON
Wednesday the Bearcats defeated UMBC 67-45 at home, behind 16 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals from senior forward Rebecca Carmody. Carmody leads the team in scoring, rebounding and assists. She is tied for first in America East with 7.6 rebounds per game.

Last season at home against Vermont now junior guard Kai Moon picked up her first career double-double. She had 13 points, a career-high 13 rebounds, and seven assists.

Binghamton is 6-3 at home this season and 1-1 in conference play at Dr. Bai Lee Court at Events Center. The Bearcats are averaging 64.6 points-per game at home.

SERIES HISTORY
Vermont leads the all-time series 21-15 against the Bearcats, but Binghamton has won the last six matchups in the series. Last year Binghamton defeated Vermont by 14 at home and on the road.

Saturday will mark the third time this season where UVM Interim Head CoachÂ
Alisa Kresge faces an America East newcomer. A former Head Coach at Weber State, Bethann Shapiro Ord is in her first season at Binghamton. Tom Garrick (UMass Lowell) and Colleen Mullen (UAlbany)are the other new head coaches in the league this season.

Save the date for our annual Rally Against Cancer game, presented by Inspired Closets, Saturday January 26 when your Catamounts host Stony Brook at 2 p.m. Vermont will be wearing special edition lavender jerseys this year, the color the represents the fight against all cancers. Jerseys will be auctioned off following the game, with proceeds going to the UVM Cancer Center. Fans who donate $5 or more to the UVM Cancer Center at the door will receive a free ticket to the game.
