Vermont (5-10, 1-2) heads back out on the road in conference play as they face Hartford (9-7, 2-0) Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. The matchup can be heard on AM 620 WVMT with Maura Sheridan on the call. LARKINS AND HANDY COMING TO PLAY IN JANUARY
Josie Larkins and
Lauren Handy have been key contributors for the Catamounts in conference play. Larkins has averaged 9.7 PPG, and was Vermont's leading scorer with 14 points in the Catamounts 52-39 win over UAlbany. Handy has averaged 9.0 PPG coming off the bench for Coach Kresge in America East action.

CRYMBLE LEADING THE WAY
Junior forward
Hanna Crymble leads the Catamounts in scoring with 15.7 PPG. She is fourth in America East in scoring. She has been Vermont's leading scorer in 11 of the Catamounts 15 games. She is shooting 52.4% from the field this season which is the second-best mark in America East. She is also shooting 85.5% from the free throw line, which is the best mark in the league.

WRIGHT BLOCK PARTY
Candice Wright is Vermont's all-time block leader with 190 career blocks. This season she already has 49 blocks. Â She needs two more blocks to reset the single season Vermont record which is 50, she set the mark during her freshman campaign. She is averaging 3.3 blocks per game, which is tied for third in the NCAA.

SCOUTING HARTFORD
The America East runner up from last season has had a strong start to the conference slate despite starting with two road games they defeated UMBC by 14 Wednesday night and Stony Brook by 28 a week earlier. The Hawks are winners of four straight and haven't played a home game since December 21. This season Hartford is 4-2 at home, including a thrilling 74-66 overtime loss to No. 22 Michigan State.

The Hawks excel at causing turnovers, they lead America East averaging 11.5 steals per game. They are 10th in the NCAA with 174 steals this season. They have at least 10 steals in in 10 of their 16 games this season.

Senior guard Lindsey Abed leads the team in scoring with 13.9 PPG, she is averaging 2.6 SPG and 2.4 APG. Against UMBC Wednesday she had 14 points, two steals and two assists. Last season in Hartford's win over the Catamounts she had 24 points and five assists, in Vermont's win over the Hawks she had only four points.

SERIES HISTORY
Vermont leads the all-time series 37-35 against the Hawks. Last season the two teams split their games against one another. Vermont defeated Hartford 53-47 at home, but the Hawks won 91-52 in West Hartford. The 91 points were the most Hartford has scored since 1987. The home team has won each of the last five games in the series.

Save the date for our annual Rally Against Cancer game, presented by Inspired Closets, Saturday January 26 when your Catamounts host Stony Brook at 2 p.m. Vermont will be wearing special edition lavender jerseys this year, the color the represents the fight against all cancers. Jerseys will be auctioned off following the game, with proceeds going to the UVM Cancer Center. Fans who donate $5 or more to the UVM Cancer Center at the door will receive a free ticket to the game.
