STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Vermont had its three-game unbeaten streak come to an end with a 4-0 setback at Stony Brook on Sunday afternoon in a rematch of last year's America East Championship Game.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Seawolves jumped out in front 30 seconds into the contest. Fanny Gotesson dribbled up the left side of the field and sent a low cross in front of the net. Alyssa Francese sprinted into position and toed a shot into the center of the net.
• Stony Brook struck again on a free kick in the 32nd minute. Kimmy Chavkin drove a line drive into the top left corner of the net from 20 yards out.
• The Seawolves added one more goal three minutes later. Rachel Florenz centered a cross from the left side to Mari Brenden, who finished with a one-timer into the right side of the net.
• Vermont's best chance to break the shutout came in the 54th minute. Casey Garfinkel took a free kick from 30 yards out and lofted a shot towards the center of the net, but Sofia Manner (3 saves) picked the ball out of the air.
• Chelsie Deponte scored the final goal of the afternoon in the 82nd minute. Arianna Barbieri was denied by Kacey Lambertson (7 saves) but Deponte tracked down the rebound and fired a shot into the left side of the net.
