ALBANY, N.Y. – UVM freshman
Alex West found the back of the net for the first time in her Catamount career but Albany used three second-half goals for a 4-1 America East win on Thursday night in a rematch of last year's conference quarterfinal.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Great Danes grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first minute. Caroline Kopp lofted a feed into the box where Katie Gowing jumped and knocked a header into the right side of the net.
- Alexa Mihale tried to find the equalizer in the 26th minute. The freshman ripped a line drive towards the far post from 35 yards out, but Great Dane keeper Andrea Leitner (3 saves) moved to her left and made the save.
- In the 39th minute, Brooke Jenkins managed to break free in the box after Mihale gave a nice through ball. The senior was 1-on-1 with Leitner, but she missed wide left of the near post.
- Meghan Cavanaugh doubled Albany's advantage four minutes into the second half. She snuck a low shot through two defenders and into the left side of the net.
- UVM cut the deficit in half in the 59th minute as West broke into the scoring column. The freshman bent a corner kick into the top left corner of the net.
- On the other end of the field, the Great Danes converted a penalty kick goal. Mariah Williams fired a strike into the bottom right corner. She added the final goal of the evening in the 64th minute.

Sunday's matinee is UVM's annual Rally Against Cancer game presented by Vermont Custom Closets. The Catamounts will be wearing special lavender socks to show their support. Fans are encouraged to wear lavender, the universal color that represents all cancers, to support the efforts being made the University of Vermont Cancer Center.
Sunday is also Senior Day presented by the UVM Alumni Association. Before the game, the Catamounts will honor their four seniors -

Savana Yurick with a Senior Day ceremony.
ALUMNI WEEKEND
UVM Athletics will host a hospitality tent behind the Virtue Stadium bleachers on Sunday as we welcome alumni, parents and families back to campus. The tent will open one hour prior to the game and close after halftime.
