BURLINGTON, Vt. – UVM women's soccer suffered a 1-0 setback after Bryant's Amanda Spitaleri scored in the 12th minute in Sunday's non-conference match at Virtue Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The lone goal of the afternoon came after Cayla D'Amico fired a shot from the corner of the box but UVM goalie Kacey Lambertson (4 saves) managed to get her gloves on ball. The rebound bounced towards the net and Spitaleri was in position for the easy one-timer.
• In the 29th minute, the Bulldogs applied pressure to UVM's backline and deflected a clear attempt. Spitaleri tracked down the loose ball on the edge of the box and lofted a shot towards the net but the ball bounced off the near post.
• With two minutes left in the first half, Lambertson made a diving save to preserve the 1-0 score. Kate Cronin ripped a bending line drive towards the far post but Lambertson leaped and knocked the ball over the crossbar with her right hand.
• UVM's best chance for an equalizer came in the 53rd minute from a corner kick. After Bryant failed to clear the ball, Ella Bankert rifled an attempt from 20 yards out but the ball sailed wide right.
