HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 30th minute, Savana Yurick's shot was blocked on the edge of the box. The ball bounced right to Aly Spencer, who ripped an attempt towards the net but the senior could not sneak it under the crossbar.
- Five minutes later, Brown's Maesyn G'Bye intercepted a clear attempt in the box. G'Bye bent a line drive past an outstretched Kacey Lambertson (3 saves) and the ball sailed harmlessly wide of the near post.
- In the 75th minute, the Catamounts escaped a pair of corner kicks by Brown. On the second corner kick, Malina Yago fired a shot through traffic but the Cats blocked the attempt near the goal line.
- In the first overtime, the Bears launched a throw-in to the far end of the box. Yago was close to ending the game from 10 yards out but a Catamount defender stepped in the way to preserve the scoreless tie. Â
- The Bears came within inches of winning the match in the 109th minute. Brown lofted a free kick to the far post where Clair Meyers bounced a header off the right post. UVM's defense was there once again and cleared the scoring threat away.Â
