CATAMOUNTS RECAP
Vermont pulled off an impressive road victory in New Hampshire (top-ranked team in the America East Preseason poll) on Monday night. The Catamounts led for over 34 minutes of the 40 minute battle and went on to win 58-53 at Lundholm Gymnasium.

Hanna Crymble led the way for UVM with game-highs in points (19) and rebounds (8). The two-time America East Player of the Week also went 7-7 at the free throw line and blocked two shots.

Crymble has now registered double-figures in the scoring column in 20 of the 23 games that she has played in this season. She also ranks first in the America East in free throw percentage (90.2%).

Sydney Smith was the other double-figure scorer for Vermont, adding 13 points. She recorded four rebounds and finished the game shooting 3-5 from downtown.

Meanwhile, New Hampshire featured two double-figure scorers and shot 37% from distance, but the Wildcats were unable to get by the Catamounts. As a unit, Vermont finished the contest at 38% from the field, 29% (5-17) from three-point territory and 92% (11-12) from the free throw line. UVM out-rebounded UNH 40-33.

SCOUTING ALBANY
Head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee is in her second season at the helm of the program after spending three seasons as the head coach of the University of Pikesville (Pikesville, Kentucky). She is the fourth head coach in Albany's Division I era. In her first season as head coach, McNamee led the Great Danes to a 21-12 overall record, including 12-4 in conference play, and a sixth-consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.

This season, Albany is 20-4 overall (9-2 in America East) and 8-3 on the road. The Great Danes are tied with the Maine Black Bears for the best record in the conference. Albany has won eight of its last nine games.

As a team, Albany averages the most points per game (70.1) in the America East. The Great Danes are also the second best free throw shooting team in the conference at 73.2% (Catamounts are first at 75.7%).

Albany's Jessica Fequiere is the third leading scorer in the conference (18 PPG), while Vermont's Hanna Crymble ranks second in that category (18.5 PPG).

INSIDE THE SERIES
Albany leads the series 21-16. After the Catamounts won 16 of the first 18 meetings between 2002 and 2011, the Great Danes have won 19 consecutive games in the series. Last season, Albany won all three matchups (including the conference tournament quarterfinals).

HISTORY BEFORE OUR EYES
Candice Wright's five blocked shots against Rider on Dec. 1 placed her in sole possession for first all-time on Vermont's career blocks list. The junior broke Katie McNamara's '05 record of 102 blocked shots on her first rejection of the contest. Wright has 135 blocked shots during her career through the last game vs UMBC.

DIALING FROM LONG DISTANCE
Smith ranks fourth all-time with 179 career makes from long distance. She surpassed her former teammate, Kayla Burchill '15 (170) with four three-pointers at UMBC on Jan. 6.

Additionally, White sits sixth all-time in program history in three-point field goals after she surpassed Ashleigh Cuncic '07 (143) on Jan. 31 against Binghamton. The redshirt-senior co-captain has now made 144 triples during her time in Burlington.

As a team, Vermont is averaging just under seven three-point makes per game. Out of UVM's 1,234 field goal attempts through the first 23 games of the season, 43% have come from behind the three-point arc. Individually, the most proficient three-point shooting Catamounts have been Robertson (38%), Crymble (34%) and White (32%).

NEXT UP
Vermont embark on a three-game road trip, starting with UMass Lowell on Sunday (Feb. 11) at 2 p.m. In their first America East matchup of the season on Jan. 3, the Catamounts defeated the River Hawks 63-55 in Burlington.

As with every America East game, a video broadcast can be accessed online for the Albany game via ESPN3. Additionally, Logan Ratick handles the radio broadcast for Vermont's second meeting of the season with UMass Lowell. Pregame coverage for the Catamounts' battle with the River Hawks on Sunday starts at 1:40 p.m., followed by the game at 2 p.m. on CatamounTV.com and News/Talk 620 WVMT-AM.
