COACH'S QUOTE
"I'm proud, we fought, when you're down a point guard and you only have one that's scary," said head coach
Alisa Kresge. "To see Josie (Larkins) take on a role and play a lot of minutes, other guards that are young playing defense for us, Hanna hitting big shots, Candice fighting through things and hitting free throws, I'm just really proud of their effort on both sides. There's little lapses that we have to get better at but if play this way every game I think we're going to be pretty tough."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Crymble had six points early for the Catamounts and Josie Larkins (11 Pts) and Candice Wright (8 Pts) each hit a three-pointer as Vermont opened up a 10-point lead fueled by a 12-2 run early in the first quarter.
- Midway through the opening frame UVM's point guard Rose Caverly appeared to roll her ankle and she was unable to return. Yale capitalized on the Catamounts misfortune scoring the next nine points to take a 13-12 lead into the second quarter.
- Freshman guard Asha Scott (6 Pts) completed a three-point play 1:02 into the second frame to cap a 5-0 UVM run to regain the lead. Yale's Tori Andrew (15 Pts) scored eight points in the quarter but Vermont held a three-point cushion at the half.
- Andrew hit a three-pointer 11 seconds into the second half as Yale took the lead back with a 7-0 run. Crymble scored six points in the third quarter including her 1,000th point and the teams headed to the final frame tied at 44.
- The teams traded buckets early in the fourth quarter and they were tied once again at 54 with 2:36 left in regulation. 17 seconds later Roxy Barahman (21 Pts) hit a jumper to give the Bulldogs a lead they wouldn't relinquish.
- Andrew hit one free throw with three seconds left to give Yale a 58-55 advantage. Coach Kresge called timeout to advance the ball and setup a play. Vermont was able to get Larkins a clean look at a game-tier but it rimmed out at the buzzer.

- The Catamounts outscored Yale 20-18 in the paint, Vermont also outscored the Bulldogs bench 14-10.
- Playing a career-high 28 minutes Asha Scott notched a career-best six points, seven rebounds and two assists.
