WOMEN'S BASKETBALL NOTEBOOK
Vermont (4-6) will travel to Buffalo to face Canisius College (1-9) tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m. as the Catamounts continue their season long four-game road trip. The non-conference matchup can be heard on AM 620 WVMT with Maura Sheridan on the call. Friday's action can be seen on

CRYMBLE LEADING THE WAY
Junior forward
Hanna Crymble leads the Catamounts in scoring with 18.2 PPG. She is second in America East in scoring behind Maine's Blanca Millan (18.8 PPG). She has been Vermont's leading scorer in eight of the Catamounts 10 games including each of the last seven. She is shooting 52.8% from the field this season which is the top mark in America East.
RETURNING TO THE LINEUP
Against South Florida on Monday night senior
Cassidy Derda saw her first game action since November 18. She netted a season-high six points for Vermont. Freshman forward
Abby Settelmeyer made her collegiate debut Monday, grabbing one board in three minutes of action.
SCOUTING CANISIUS
The Griffins are 1-9 this season but are better than their record would indicate, five of their losses have been by six points or fewer. Canisius' lone win came at UAlbany on November 28 in a 48-42 decision.
Senior forward Sara Hinriksdottir leads Canisius in scoring, averaging 12.9 PPG. She is also tied for the team-lead or is the team leader in assists, blocks and steals.
Canisius dropped their last game Sunday at Akron 62-53. D'Jhai Patterson-Ricks led the team in scoring with 13 points. The Griffins only trailed by one at halftime.
SERIES HISTORY
Vermont leads the overall series with Canisius 5-2. The Catamounts defeated the Griffins 75-51 in their last meeting on December 16, 2013 at Patrick Gym. Canisius is 2-1 against Vermont in Buffalo.
MAAC ACTION
Vermont is 30-37 against teams from the MAAC. Canisius is Vermont's most common MAAC opponent aside from Siena who the Catamounts have faced 29 times. Quinnipiac is the only MAAC school Vermont has faced and not defeated at least once.
