Vermont will host Rider (0-1) in the 2018-19 regular season opener on Friday (Nov. 9) at 7 p.m. The non-conference matchup can be heard on AM 620 WVMT with Maura Sheridan on the call.

VERMONT IN HOME OPENERS
On Friday the Catamounts will be looking to secure their second straight home opener win after defeating Norwich 75-31 last season. Since 1979 Vermont is 28-20 in home openers. The Catamounts are 7-3 in their last 10.
BALANCED SCORING LEADS CATS
Vermont won its only exhibition contest 76-49 Sunday afternoon against St. Michael's. Six Catamounts scored eight or more points including
Josie Larkins and
Candice Wright who led the way with 13 points. Freshmen guards
Rose Caverly and
Asha Scott each had nine points in their debut performance in a Vermont uniform.
CRYMBLE NAMED TO PRESEASON ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM
Junior co-captain
Hanna Crymble was the only forward selected to America East's Preseason All-Conference Team as voted on by the league coaches. Crymble earned Second Team All-Conference honors a year ago and led the Catamounts in scoring (16.9 PPG) and rebounding (5.6 RPG) last season. On two occasions, last year she was named the America East Player of the Week. She has started 58 of the 59 games she's played at Vermont.
YOUTH MOVEMENT
Vermont is one of only five teams in Division I women's basketball with seven or more true freshmen (Florida Atlantic, Oklahoma, SMU & Wichita State.) The Catamounts average age is 19.7, which is 13th youngest among the 349 Division I teams.
SCOUTING RIDER
The Broncs are 0-1 on the season after dropping an 89-65 decision to Princeton Tuesday night at home. Junior guard Stella Johnson led Rider in scoring with 21 points and five rebounds. Johnson led the team last season in scoring with 16 PPG, she was named Second Team All-MAAC. Johnson had 28 points in the Broncs 64-49 win over Vermont last season.

SERIES HISTORY
The Catamounts lead the all-time series 2-1 against Rider. The Broncs won last season's matchup in New Jersey but the Catamounts swept a home-and-home against Rider during the 2003-04 and 2004-05 campaigns.
LICENSE PLATE GIVEAWAY
The Catamounts continue their season-opening home stand Sunday afternoon as they host cross-state rival Dartmouth at 3 p.m. The first 100 fans in attendance will receive a free license plate.
