BURLINGTON, Vt. – Lauren Manis scored 23 points to lead Holy Cross to a 65-40 win over Vermont Wednesday evening in non-conference action from Patrick Gym.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Crusaders jumped out to an early 8-0 lead behind two made three-pointers from Manis. She had eight points in the first quarter and Holy Cross held a 12-7 lead after the opening frame.
- Candice Wright scored five points early in the second frame as Vermont cut into the Crusader lead. However in the final four minutes of the second quarter Holy Cross went on an 11-0 run to take a 31-18 lead into the locker room.
- Hanna Crymble (15 Pts) scored the first six points for the Catamounts in the opening two minutes of the third quarter. Rose Caverly (5 Pts) scored her first points of the night to cap a 6-0 Vermont run that cut the Crusaders lead to nine.
- Josie Larkins forced a turnover and then fed Nicole Crum (8 Pts) in transition as the Catamounts cut the Holy Cross lead to six with 4:33 left in the third quarter. The Crusaders pushed the lead back to nine at 47-38 heading to the final frame.
- The Crusaders scored the first 14 points of the fourth quarter to wrap up their fourth win of the season and second straight against an America East opponent.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Freshman guard Sarah Wells made her first collegiate start this evening.
- Rose Caverly grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds for Vermont, setting a new career- high.
- Nicole Crum scored eight of Vermont's 12 bench points, setting a career-high against a Division I opponent.
