DURHAM, N.H. – The UVM women's soccer team snapped a six-game winless streak against twin state rival New Hampshire with a 2-0 shutout victory on Thursday night. The Catamounts improved their overall record to 5-7-3 and 3-2-1 in league play. UNH evens out at 6-6-2 on the year and falls to 2-2-1 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UNH's Maggie Grigely tried to grab an early goal in the fifth minute, but UVM keeper Kacey Lambertson (3 saves) corralled the shot for the save.
- In the 54th minute, the Wildcats almost struck first as Liz Lane's attempt bounced off the post.
- Casey Garfinkel broke the scoreless tie in the 61st minute after she sent a free kick into the back of the net from 35 yards out.
- Savana Yurick doubled the advantage to 2-0 in the 76th minute. Garfinkel sent a corner kick into the center of the box and Yurick knocked a header past UNH goalie Mia Neas (5 saves).
- The Wildcats had one last chance to get on the board in the 88th minute with a shot from Megan Rumbold, but Lambertson made the save once again.
NOTES
- UVM ended an additional streak against UNH with its first victory in Durham since 2002.
- Garfinkel set a new single game career-high with three points
- Lambertson notched her fourth clean sheet of the season.
- With the victory, the Cats Win, Community Wins campaign and Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate another $100 to the Boys and Girls Club of Burlington, bringing this year's total to 80 wins and $8,000.
