CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – For the fourth time this season, the Catamounts kept their opponents off the scoreboard with a 2-0 shutout victory at Harvard on Tuesday evening. Vermont improves to 5-4 overall on the season while the Crimson continue their recent struggles at 1-5-1.

UVM recorded the clean sheet with a combination effort from goalies
Aron Runarsson and
Alex Popovich (2 saves). The Cats notched a victory in Cambridge, Massachusetts for the first time since 2002.
The Green and Gold were on the attack in the early parts of the match. In the 12th minute,
Daði Bærings Halldórsson volleyed a ball into the box where
Trevor Colazzo heel kicked a pass towards the far corner of the six-yard box.
Lucas Shaw tracked down the feed and tried to sneak a shot under the crossbar but the sophomore's attempt flew too high.
In the 16th minute,
Jon Arnar Barðdal crossed midfield and played a ball out on the right side to
Danny Orrego, who lofted a pass into the box for Barddal. The Icelandic sophomore fired an open shot on net where Harvard keeper Kyle Parks had to make a leaping save. Parks deflected the attempt off the crossbar and the Crimson backline cleared the rebound away to keep the Cats from netting the first score of the contest.
With under 10 minutes to go before halftime, UVM was on the attack once again when
Geo Alves ripped a shot through traffic from 15 yards out that bounced off the left post.
The Catamounts broke the scoreless tie in the 55th minute. Vermont was presented with a penalty kick after Harvard's replacement goalie Matthew Freese was issued a red card for a handball. On the kick, Kabala lined the go-ahead score into the left side of the net.
Ívar Örn Árnason provided an insurance goal for the Cats in the 71st minute with a header. Alves took a corner and launched a ball towards the far end of the box where the 6-1 defender jumped up and knocked the second goal of the night into the top left corner of the net.
Vermont begins America East play at Hartford on Saturday (Sept. 30) in the fifth leg of its current six-game road trip. Action gets underway at 7 p.m. The game can be seen on
