NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Central Connecticut State used a pair of second half goals to sneak past UVM with a 2-0 victory on Friday night.

The Catamounts fall to 4-3-1 on the season while the Blue Devils improve to 3-4 with the win.
In the fourth minute, the Cats were close to getting on the getting on the scoreboard.
Sarah Martin chipped a free over the Blue Devils' defense from 20 yards out, but Vermont could not get a header on the attempt.
The Green and Gold had another strong chance in the 13th minute.
Colby Snyder received a through ball and battled through CCSU's defense where the senior tried to touch a low shot towards the near post, but Blue Devils keeper Ashley Cavanaugh hauled in the threat.
With under 10 minutes left in the first half, CCSU's Charlotte Maurer bent a low shot from inside of the box towards the far post, but UVM goalie
Coco Speckmaier (2 saves) scooped up the attempt for the save.
The Blue Devils tallied the first goal of the evening two minutes into the second half. On a corner kick, Yo Tachibana sent a pass to the far corner of the six-yard box where Maurer leaped up and knocked a header inside of the far post.
CCSU padded its lead 10 minutes later when Kelly Halligan was on the attack and buried a strike from 30 yards out into the top left corner of the net.
