BURLINGTON, Vt. – Albany scored the only goal of the game late in the second half as the UVM men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss to its conference rival on Saturday afternoon. The contest was in conjunction with Homecoming Weekend, presented by the UVM Alumni Association.

Vermont falls to an even 6-6 overall and 1-1 in conference play. Albany extends its winning streak to six games and improves to 9-2 on the year along along with 2-0 in America East.
The Catamounts controlled the offensive tempo in the early parts of the game. In the fifth minute,
Tom Cole sent a cross from the right side of the box where
Justin Freitas chipped a shot off the crossbar.
Midway through the second half, UVM eyed another scoring chance.
Mikel Kabala made a run out of the backfield and played a cross into the box after a feed from Cole, but Kabala's cross was sent searching by Albany's backline.
Trevor Colazzo collected the loose ball and launched a shot towards the right side of the net, but Albany keeper Danny Vitiello (8 saves) made the diving save to preserve the scoreless tie.
The Great Danes got on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal from Kaz Boschen in the 83rd minute. Albany lined a free kick into the left side of the box and Boschen collected the loose ball after a clear attempt by the Catamounts. Boschen hooked a low shot inside of the far post for the eventual game-winner.
