Sydney Cammeyer,
Annie Monaghan,
Rylee Osgood,
Sarah Martin,
Taylor Palmer,
Colby Snyder, and
Coco Speckmaier.
LAST TIME OUT
The Cats suffered a 1-0 double overtime loss at Hartford last Sunday in a rematch of last year's America East Semifinal. The Hawks netted the walk-off win with Julia Carr's fourth goal of the season in the 102nd minute. On a corner kick, Sierra Stone sent a kick towards the far end of the box where Carr collected the pass and lined a shot under the crossbar from three yards out.
REVISITING LAST YEAR'S AMERICA EAST QUARTERFINAL | Stony Brook Highlights
Sunday's duel will be a rematch of last year's America East Quarterfinal as sixth-seeded Vermont advanced past third-seeded Stony Brook by winning the penalty kick battle 3-1.
The upset marked the first time since 2012 where a No. 6 seeded team knocked off a No. 3 seeded team in in the America East Tournament. Speckmaier had a clutch save in the second round of penalty kicks that was later voted as the America East Women's Soccer Save of the Year.
CAREER COACHING WINS LIST
Head coach
Kristi Lefebvre has tallied 39 wins during her tenure with the Catamounts and she is only two wins shy of tying Jodi Kenyon for second place on the program's all-time wins list. In her first season at the helm in 2011, the Catamounts earned a berth into the America East Tournament for the first time in five years and she has guided the Green and Gold to three semifinals appearances during her time in Burlington – the most by a Vermont head coach.
SCOUTING UMBC
Coming into the season, UMBC was picked to finish ninth in the America East Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Retrievers have almost doubled their offensive production at home with 21 points compared to 11 points on the road. Senior midfielder Gabby Boehmer leads the team in points (6) and goals (3). UMBC has a freshmen trio who follow with two goals apiece - forwards Christina Corbi, Olivia Bronson, and Elysia Paolillo. Senior goalie Leah Roth stopped 65 shots on the year and owns a 1.80 goals-against average.
SCOUTING STONY BROOK
Despite last year's quarterfinal upset, the Seawolves were tabbed fourth in this year's preseason poll, one spot ahead of the Cats. Stony Brook is looking to close out the regular season on a high note as the Long Island crew has reached the win column in four out of its last five conference games. The Seawolves have two of the top scorers in the league – freshman forward Alyssa Francese ranks fourth with 17 points (8 goals, 1 assist) and freshman forward Rachel Florenz sits in a ninth-place tie with 13 points (4 goals, 5 assists). Freshman netminder Sofia Manner owns the third-best goals-against average in the conference at 0.89 and has recorded three shutouts this season.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The all-time series with UMBC swings in the favor of Vermont with an 8-4-3 edge. The Catamounts are unbeaten against the Retrievers in the last four matches and six out of the last eight overall. Last year, the two foes battled to a 1-1 draw at Virtue Field.
Stony Brook and UVM have played some tight contests in recent years so it's only fair that the all-time record is close as well. The Cats own a 13-11-1 record over the Seawolves and the Green and Gold will be seeking their first victory on Long Island since 2012.
AMERICA EAST TOURNAMENT
The top six teams in the final regular season standings will advance to the America East Tournament. The playoffs are set to begin on Thursday, Oct. 26 with the quarterfinals.
