WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The UVM women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 double overtime loss at Hartford on Sunday afternoon in a rematch of last year's America East Semifinal. Vermont drops to 6-7-2 on the season and 2-3-1 in the league standings. Hartford improves to 8-7-2 overall and 4-2-1 in conference play.

UVM had a pair of chances to grab a lead before halftime. In the 39th minute,
Bridgette King's shot from inside of the box was saved by Hartford keeper Maia Perez (7 saves). On Vermont's next trip down the field,
Aly Spencer eyed the go-ahead score but her attempt was blocked by the Hawks' defense.
Late in the second half, the Catamounts nearly broke through with the contest's first goal. From the middle of the field,
Colby Snyder dished a pass to her right for
Ella Bankert, who tried to sneak a shot under the crossbar but her attempt flew too high.
In the first overtime period, UVM's defense made a big save to force a second overtime session. Julia Carr fired a low shot from the top of the box but a Catamount defender cleared away the potential scoring threat from the edge of the goal line.
The Hawks netted the walk-off win with Carr's four goal of the season in the 102nd minute. On a corner kick, Sierra Stone sent a kick towards the far end of the box where Carr collected the pass and lined a shot under the crossbar from three yards out.
