SETTING THE SCENE
The Catamounts come into Wednesday night with an 18-5 record which is tied for the second-best mark through the first 23 games in program history. The green and gold posted a perfect 9-0 mark in the month of January and were one of 11 undefeated teams in the country during the first month of the New Year. UVM is riding a 10-game winning streak for only the eighth time in program history and searching for its fifth 11-game winning streak. In America East play, the Cats lead the league in scoring defense (61.5 ppg allowed), scoring margin (+14.2), team field-goal percentage (52.9%), field-goal percentage defense (40.4), three-point percentage (42.4), three-point percentage defense (28.5%) and blocks (43).
Trae Bell-Haynes has made 51.4% of his attempts and dished out 30 assists in league action – both rank eighth among conference leaders.
PROMOTIONS
Wednesday's meeting with Maine is WCAX Night, presented by WCAX-TV. WCAX anchors Mike McCune and Dan Dowling will have a table in the lobby where fans can take photos and pick up a free seat cushion. The pair will also compete in a halftime competition to see who can hit the most baskets in 30 seconds. The Cats will be wearing You Can Play shirts during warmup for You Can Play Night. A table will be available in the lobby for more information.

BELL-HAYNES JOINS THE 1,000-POINT CLUB
In Saturday's win at Stony Brook, Bell-Haynes hit a fast break layup to seal the victory with 16 ticks left on the clock to become the 36th member of the 1,000-point club. Bell-Haynes has averaged 10.8 points over the course of his UVM career and accomplished the feat in only 93 games.
REGION'S LEADER IN WINS
The Catamounts continue to lead the region in total wins. Vermont's 18 victories are the most among all Division I teams in the six-state area. New Hampshire and Providence trail with 14 victories while Northeastern and Rhode Island follow with 13 wins. UMass has reached the win column 12 times to keep pace with the group.
CATS STAND ALONE
Vermont is left standing as the only remaining team in New England with a perfect conference record after Harvard suffered its first loss over the weekend. Overall, the Catamounts are one of 10 programs in the country to remain undefeated in league play.

The 10-game winning streak has helped UVM gain attention as one of the top mid-major programs in the country. The Catamounts jumped three spots from last week to No. 15 in the
CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top-25 Poll. In the
Mid-MajorMadness.com Power Rankings, the green and gold are ranked No. 18 among the nation's top mid-major programs.
LAST TIME OUT | Stony Brook Highlights
Last season, Stony Brook ended Vermont's NCAA Tournament hopes with a 70-64 loss in the America East Championship game but the Catamounts avenged the loss on Saturday night with a 71-64 America East win at Island Federal Credit Union Arena.
Ernie Duncan dropped 22 points on 6-of-9 shooting with all six field goals coming from beyond the arc. Duncan also recorded four rebounds and dished out four assists.
Payton Henson and
Anthony Lamb reached double figures for UVM with 10 points apiece.
Drew Urquhart added nine points for the Cats.
SCOUTING MAINE
The Black Bears begin the second half of conference play on a five-game skid. Despite the struggles in America East play, Maine has recorded the third-most steals with 47 takeaways. Wes Myers has been tearing America East foes apart with a league-best 23.0 points per game and has made 51.1% of his attempts. The junior guard has posted four outings against league opponents with at least 25 points. He sits in a sixth-place tie with 12 steals in conference play and teammate Ryan Bernstein follows in 10th place with 10 steals. Bernstein has been a solid facilitator for the Black Bears with 4.6 assists against America East teams - the sixth-best average in the league. Andrew Fleming has averaged 9.8 points per contest this season for the Black Bears. The three-time America East Rookie of the Week nearly recorded a double-double in Maine's last game versus Binghamton with eight points and nine rebounds.
SERIES HISTORY
Maine leads the all-time series against Vermont 70-65 which dates back to the 1949-50 season. Since the 2006-07 season, the Cats have won 18 of 21 meetings against the Black Bears, including nine-straight contests.
John Becker is 10-1 in his career versus Maine which includes a win in the America East Quarterfinals during the 2012 run to the NCAA Tournament. In the conference opener on Jan. 5, Vermont beat Maine 90-77 at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine.
