ABOUT VERMONTVermont sits seventh in America East with an overall record of 7-15 (2-7), including conference wins against New Hampshire and UMass Lowell. The Catamounts have already increased their number of wins from 2014-15 and matched their conference record from the former season's campaign.

UVM has continued to pace the league in swats, piling up 112 in 22 games to rank 30th nationally behind rookie
Candice Wright. Wright is tied for second in the conference, averaging nearly two swats a contest.

Andreana Thomas leads the Vermont offense, as the graduate student has reached double-figure scoring 17 times this season. Thomas is putting up 15 points per game during conference play to combine for over a quarter of the Catamounts' league points.
LAST TIME OUT VS. MAINEA late fourth quarter rally wasn't enough as women's basketball fell short in its second of two back-to-back conference road games 63-51 to Maine on Wednesday evening.

Sydney Smith dished a pass down low to
Candice Wright under the basket and the Catamounts were within one midway through the second quarter. Maine went on a 13-3 run over UVM, leading by as many as 11 with 3:43 to play in the half. A pair of three-balls by
Kylie Atwood and
Lauren Handy cut into the Black Bear advantage, but Maine held a 31-24 edge at the half.

The Black Bears pushed ahead in the final period as Koizar tipped in a layup to give Maine its largest lead (58-38) of the contest at the 5:23 mark.
Kylie Butler went on a personal 7-0 run in the final minute and a half of the fourth quarter with a pair of layups and two trips to the line, but it was not enough as Maine secured the conference win to remain unbeaten on its home court.
SCOUTING THE GREAT DANESAlbany (18-3, 9-0) is on a 10-game win streak, as the Great Danes are undefeated in conference play and at SEFCU Arena. As a team, they are posting nearly 70 points per game with the third-best shooting percentage (49.7-percent) in the country.

Shereesha Richards leads the offensively-dominant team with 23.5 ppg, ranking seventh in the NCAA. Richards surpassed the 2,000-point milestone during the Great Danes and Catamounts last meeting and is currently the all-time leading scorer in program history.

Zakiya Saunders is off to a strong start as UAlbany's point guard, leading America East and standing second in Division I with 7.6 assists per game, over two higher than any other player in the conference.
SERIES HISTORYVermont has a narrow 16-15 edge over Albany in the all-time series history. The most recent meeting between the Great Danes and Catamounts on Jan. 9 resulted in an Albany win at SEFCU Arena.
