Lauren Handy has had a hot hand from downtown in the Catamounts' recent matchups. The Sarnia, Ontario native is shooting nearly 35-percent from three-point range after her 25 appearances for UVM, earning her first career start on Sunday against UMBC.
Handy has gone 6-for-13 from behind the arc in her last three games. Last week versus Binghamton, Handy recorded a new career-high 17 points on four triples, and went 6-for-10 from the field in a season-best 28 minutes on the floor.

Hayley Robertson has reached double-figure scoring six times this season, including two of the last four conference matchups, while seeing 13 starts in 27 games. Robertson has started the last four games at guard and has played every single minute in all four contests. During that span, the freshman from Toronto is averaging 11.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game.

Robertson recorded her first ever double-double against UMass Lowell (Feb. 8) as she piled 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, both career-highs. She is also averaging 2.3 assists per game, tallying at least three helpers in each of Vermont's last six games.

LAST TIME OUT VS UMBC | HighlightsUMBC led wire-to-wire as the Retrievers topped UVM 74-60 in the Catamounts' annual Rally Against Cancer game on Saturday at Patrick Gym. Vermont fell to 7-20 (2-12) on the season, while UMBC improved to 17-10 (8-6).
Sydney Smith led all Catamounts in scoring as she posted 19 points, going 6-for-9 from the field, and pulled down four boards.
Candice Wright also reached double-figure scoring with 15 points and four rebounds. Robertson grabbed a team-high nine rebounds as well. Rookie
Lauren Handy made her first career start and finished with seven points and seven boards.

Smith knocked down a jumper and a three-ball to chip away at the UMBC lead, and UVM closed to within eight (28-20) with 5:09 to play in the first half.
Kylie Butler followed up with a triple from the left corner and the Catamounts made it a single-possession game.

A 6-2 Vermont run in the fourth quarter put UVM within single-digits once again (65-56) with two minutes remaining in the game. A trip to the stripe for Taylor McCarley at the 26 second mark sealed the UMBC conference win.
SCOUTING THE WILDLCATSNew Hampshire hosts Vermont owning an 11-16 (5-9) record after winning three of its last five matchups. As a squad, the Wildcats are averaging 57.5 points per game, while shooting over 75-percent from the foul line. UNH edges its opponents on the boards with a +3.1 rebounding margin on the year.

Two Wildcats are averaging double-figure scoring as Elizabeth Belanger posts 16.6 points per game and Carlie Pogue records 10.7 ppg. Belanger is the only player to have started all 27 games this season and has recorded almost 30-percent of the team's points during the 2015-16 campaign. The senior guard has also tallied a team-best 86-percent from the charity stripe, connecting on over 100 free throws on the season.

Freshman Ashley Storey was tabbed conference Rookie of the Week for the second time in three weeks on Monday. Last Wednesday, Storey notched a career-high nine rebounds and recorded four points en route to the Wildcats' 63-55 victory over UMass Lowell. She also tallied a block, giving her 18 on the season. She ranks second only to her teammate Pogue who has 19 this year.
SERIES HISTORYVermont leads the all-time series against the Wildcats 40-36 as Thursday marks the 77th meeting between the two teams. The schools split the season series last year, as UVM topped New Hampshire on the road in Durham, 63-60.
