BOSTON – Madison Litchfield made 39 saves as she picked up her third shutout of the season and
Gina Repaci added two points including the game-winning goal as Vermont defeated No. 6 Boston U 2-0 at Walter Brown Arena in Hockey East action Saturday afternoon.

Vermont opened the scoring with just 1:13 left in the first period. Repaci scored her first goal of the season on Boston U's Erin O'Neil as the Catamounts scored first for just the fifth time this season in conference play.
Amanda Pelkey and
Brittany Zuback earned assists on the play, as they continue to lead the team in scoring with 22 points this season.

Litchfield continued her strong play of late in net for the Catamounts as the Terriers mounted pressure in the second period. Litchfield made 15 saves in the second to bring her game total to 28 heading to the final frame.

The Catamounts added an insurance marker 3:10 into the third period.
Dayna Colang scored her 10
th goal of the season on the power play to give Vermont a two-goal cushion.
Victoria Andreakos and Repaci assisted on the Catamounts' 17
th power play goal of the season.

Litchfield sealed the Catamounts first-ever win at Boston U with 11 third period saves. Litchfield's shutout marked the first time the Terriers have been shutout since losing 5-0 to Wisconsin in November of 2013.
"We really put together a fantastic effort at both ends of the ice," said head coach
Jim Plumer. "We built on last weeks defensive effort today and it's gratifying to finally get rewarded at the offensive end as well.
