BURLINGTON, Vt. – Tasha Wilkins scored twice to lead the Dartmouth Big Green to a 4-0 victory over Vermont in non-conference women's soccer action at Virtue Field on Sunday.
The Big Green took a 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute. Bianca Ribi's shot was saved by UVM goalkeeper
Ally Ramos, but the rebound fell to Wilkins who was there to finish off the put back with a low shot to the near post.
Dartmouth added three more goals in the second half to extend its lead. Lucielle Kozlov finished off a through pass to Lindsay Knutson from inside the six-yard box to push the lead to 2-0.
Melanie Vangle's first goal of the year game in the 72nd minute and pused the Big Green's advantage to 3-0. After initially being stopped by the UVM defense, she stuck with the play and her second effort was rewarded with a goal.
Wilkins rounded out the scoring with her second tally in the 75th minute. She blasted a shot from the top of the penalty box for her second goal of the season.
Ramos was credited with seven saves, including several diving stops, in the Vermont net. Casey Cousineau and Katie Fuhs combined to make three saves for Dartmouth.
Vermont, playing its third game in five days, falls to 2-6-1 on the year, while Dartmouth improves to 3-2-1 overall.
