BURLINGTON, Vt. - The Vermont women's basketball team faces No. 22 Syracuse on Monday (Dec. 1) at 7 p.m. in the first meeting between the two teams since the 2002-03 season. The game will be broadcast on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel. Freshman Sydney Smith scored a career-high 14 points to lead the Catamounts, but Delaware's Courtni Green poured in a career-high 30 points to lead the Blue Hens to the win ... UVM fell behind 13-2 to start the game, but climbed back to within two with seven minutes left in the half ... Delaware led 26-31 at the break ... Vermont closed to within two again in the opening minutes of the second half, but the Blue Hens pushed their lead to 12 behind eight straight points from Green. Delaware extended its lead to 15 at the 8:11 mark of the stanza and maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the way.
