BURLINGTON, Vt. – A long throw in by Hartford's Aleko Patridis meant for a teammate, glanced off the head of a UVM defender and into the net in the 88th minute to give the Hawks a 1-0 victory at Vermont in America East men's soccer action at Virtue Field on Saturday.
Vermont falls to 7-6-1 and 2-2-1 in league play. Hartford improves to 8-5-2 and 3-2-0 in America East.

Just before the game-winning tally, the Hawks put the pressure on the Catamounts. Two different UVM defenders were able to save goals with clearances off the line for the Catamounts.
Hartford held an 11-9 edge in shots, 6-3 in the second half alone. David Mackinnon was credited with six stops in the Hartford net, while
Conor Leland made three stops for Vermont. Senior
Ryan Bailey played the first 16 minutes of the game in net for UVM on its "Senior Day".
