A 2011 graduate of St. Michael’s College, Pete Estes joined the athletic department at the University of Vermont in 2013. Estes is the Director of Boradcasting and Creative Content.
Prior to his arrival in Burlington, Estes spent a year at Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I., serving as the Director of New Media. He was responsible for all video content on BryantBulldogs.com as well as the Bryant Sports Network webcasts.
Before joining the Bryant staff, Estes worked at the America East Conference as the Communications Intern, serving as the media relations contact for cross country, indoor and outdoor track & field, swimming & diving and tennis. He has also gained professional experience at WCAX-TV Channel 3, the New England Sports Network (NESN), the Vermont Lake Monsters (Single-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics) and the Bennington Bombers (now Albany Dutchmen in the PGCBL).
Estes graduated from St. Michael's in May 2011 with a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Mass Communications. During his time at St. Michael's, the Bennington, Vt., native spearheaded an effort to get Purple Knight sports on the air for the 2010-2011 seasons. He served as the primary play-by-play announcer for webcasts of men's and women's basketball and men's ice hockey contests. He was awarded the College's George 'Doc' Jacobs Award, presented annually to the student who makes a truly outstanding contribution to Purple Knight Athletics. Estes was also a four-year member of the St. Michael's baseball team, earning CoSIDA Academic All-District Second Team honors as a senior.
Estes is a native of Bennington, Vt., and currently resides in South Burlington with his wife Nora and their dog Oakley.
