Ross joined the coaching staff in August 2025, following her playing career for the Catamounts from 2020 to 2024.
This is what Head Coach Kristi Huizenga had to say on the hiring of Laney Ross, “We are thrilled to add Laney to our staff and keep one of the Catamount greats in Catamount Country. Laney was one of the best captains we have had to serve this program, part of the winningest class in Vermont’s America East era, and her experience will be invaluable to our student-athletes and staff.”
Prior to coaching, Ross was a four-year starter at UVM and was a member of the 2021 America East Champion team. The Natick, Massachusetts native logged 63 games, 57 starts, and 4,504 minutes played in her Catamount career. Ross was on the America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll (2021-22, 2022-23, 2024-25) and the America East Academic Honor Roll in 2023-24.
