As a senior, he earned all-conference honors for the second straight year with a third place finish in the steeplechase and finished 11th out of 24 qualifiers at the New England Championships.
Gingras graduated from Vermont in 1999 with a bachelor's degree in economics and geography. He was the recipient of the John H. Converse Award given to the outstanding senior in economics and was a member of the Gamma Theta Upsilon International Honor Society for geography.
