University of Vermont Athletics

Caleb Nelson, a 2025 graduate of Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, Vermont, joined the University of Vermont Athletics Department in August 2025.

Nelson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Media & Communications with a minor in History. While at Saint Michael’s, he served as the sports editor for The Defender, the college’s student-run newspaper, and joined the athletics communications team as a staff writer during his senior year. In that role, he produced a wide range of stories celebrating student-athletes’ achievements both on the field and in the classroom.

In recognition of his dedication to student media and athletics storytelling, Nelson received the John D. Donoghue Award for Outstanding Contributions and Unselfish Support of Student Media in his senior year.

Nelson is from St. Johnsbury, Vermont. He attended both Danville School and Blue Mountain Union School, where he played basketball and baseball. Nelson serves as the main contact for field hockey, women's basketball, and men's lacrosse.
