SENIOR SEASON (2022-23):

• She was named the 2023 Joe Fischer Award winner which honors a member of the UVM Swimming and Diving Team who has displayed dedication, sacrifice and humility.
• She served as a co-captain for the second consecutive season.
• At the NJIT Invitational she placed second in the 500 free (5:08.63), first in the 100 free (53.22), second in the 200 free (1:53.86) and second at the 50 free with a time of 24.76 … Also, at the NJIT Invitational she was a part of the 400 free relay that placed first in a time of 3:34.22, the final swimmer on the 200 free relay that finished first in a time of 1:38.61 and was a part of the 400 medley relay team that finished in second with a time of 3:58.64.
• At the Harold Anderson Invitational she set a Tootell Aquatic Center record placing first in the 500 free with a time of 4:53.56 … She was also a part of the 800 free relay (7:31.26), the 200 free relay (1:36.40), 200 medley relay (1:44.74), which were all Tootell Aquatic Center records.
• At the 2023 America East Championship she placed fourth in the 200 free with a season-best time of 1:50.91, eighth in the 100 free with a time of 51.94 and 14th in the 50 free with a time of 24.42 … Also, at the 2023 America East Championship she was a part of the 800 free relay team that placed first in a time of 7:23.72 and was the second swimmer on the 400 free relay that placed fourth in a time of 3:26.91.

JUNIOR SEASON (2021-22): Her best time in the 50 free was 24.39 and in the 200 IM it was 2:08.09 at the 2022 ECAC Championships on Feb. 25 … In the 100 free she finished fourth with her season-best time of 51.70, in the 200 free she placed first in 1:49.81, and in the 500 free she claimed second with a time of 4:52.31 at the 2022 America East Championships on Feb. 10 … Also at those America East Championships, she was a part of the 200 free, 400 free, and 800 free relays that all took home first place … She placed first in the 200 IM against Maine (Nov. 6) … placed first in the 200 and 500 free against URI (Nov. 19 & 20) …  first in 200 free against URI (Jan. 22) … first in the 400 free relay against URI (Nov. 21), against Army and Binghamton (Oct. 2), against UNH (Oct. 23), and first in the 400 medley relay against URI (Nov. 20).
 
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2020-21): Her best time in the 50 free was 25.10 against URI on March 20 … In the 100 breast, she recorded a season-best time of 1:09.87 against UNH on Feb. 20 … In the America East Championships on Apr. 23, she recorded finished in the top four and had season-best times in three events … She recorded a time of 51.53 in the 100 free finishing fourth, 1:51.38 in the 200 free four third place and also finished in third in a time of 4:55.24 in the 500 free.

FIRST YEAR SEASON (2019-20): Took fifth in the 200 free (1:52.67), seventh in the 500 free (5:03.58), and 12th in the mile (17:38.92) at the 2020 America East Championship … Finished third in the 1,000 free (10:47.72) against Rhode Island (Jan. 18) … Won both the 500 free (5:14.22) and 1,000 free (10:44.99) against Binghamton (Jan. 12) … Won both the 200 free (1:58.21) and 500 free (5:16.61) against Siena (Jan. 11) … Won the 500 free (5:00.12) and finished second in both the 200 free (1:52.87) and mile (17:39.65) at the 2019 Harold Anderson Invitational … Finished second in the 200 free (1:57.57) against Bryant (Nov. 16) … Won the 500 free (5:13.86) and finished third in the 200 free (1:58.32) against Stony Brook (Nov. 9) … Won the 500 free (5:15.45) against Maine (Nov. 2).

BEFORE VERMONT: Arrives in Burlington from Hilo High School and Hilo, Hawaii ... Captained the swim team as a senior and was named Team MVP three times ... Holds school record in the 200 free and 500 free ... National Honor Society President, Class Vice President, and Valedictorian at Hilo.

PERSONAL: Daughter of George and Emi Poppas ... Older brother, Benjamin, attends the University of Hawaii, Manoa ... Chose UVM for the team camaraderie and academic opportunities ... Fluent in Japanese and lists her favorite movie as the Pursuit of Happyness ... Plans to major in Biology.
