BEFORE VERMONT: Herbst was a midfielder at Webster Schroeder High School ... She served as a team captain as a senior and earned all-county honors three times ... Herbst was also a four-time scholar-athlete and named to the All-Greater Rochester Honorable Mention team in 2006 and 2007.
