AS A JUNIOR (2012): Served as a tri-captain in 2012 ... Started in 17 games on the season.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2011): Was a tri-captain ... Started all 19 games ... Scored her first collegiate goalat Yale to knot the game up and force overtime.

AS A FRESHMAN (2010): Started 10 of the 13 games she appeared in ... Was one of the top defenders for Vermont in her rookie season.

BEFORE VERMONT: DeMaio (pronounced de-may-o) came to Vermont from the Pennington School in Pennington, N.J. … She was a four-year defender/midfielder and helped Pennington win the Prep A State Championship and Mercer Country Tournament Championship four straight years ... During her final two seasons, ESPN.com rated Pennington among the top five teams in the country ... Individually, DeMaio earned all-area first team honors three consecutive seasons.

PERSONAL: Is the daughter of Mike and Jackie DeMaio … Has an older brother Mike who attended Temple … Also played basketball, lacrosse and softball during her high school career … Is a biological science major.
