The 2016-17 campaign was the fourth as an assistant at Vermont for former Wisconsin women's hockey standout Kelly Nash.

In her first season in Burlington, the Catamounts set a program record with 18 wins and won the program's first ever Division I playoff game. The offensive unit that Nash supervises also netted 93 goals, a team record that stood until the Green and Gold lit the lamp 96 times in 2016-17.

A 2011 Wisconsin graduate, Nash made three Frozen Four appearances during her playing career. She won national championships in 2011 and 2009 and compiled 69 points in 153 career games with the Badgers.

During her senior season, Nash scored the game-winning overtime goal to help the Badgers overcome a two-goal third period deficit in the WCHA Final Face-Off as Wisconsin clinched its fourth conference title en route to the NCAA Championship. She also received the Jeff Sauer Award as a senior as the team's most dedicated player.

Since graduating, Nash has played for the Vienna (Austria) Sabres of the European Women's Hockey League and also coached with the Middlesex (Massachusetts) Islanders.
