AS A SENIOR (2012): Started 17 games … Had a team-leading five assists, four of which came on game winning goals … Had both assists in a 2-1 win over Stony Brook that helped UVM capture its first America East Regular Season title since 1989 … Helped lead Vermont’s defense to finish with the least goals allowed in America East (17) ... Named to the America East All-Conference First Team and NEISL All-Star squad.

AS A JUNIOR (2011): Started all 16 games he played in ... Handed out three assists on the year ... In the season opening win over Central Connecticut, he had the assist on the game-winning goal ... Also assisted on the game-winner versus Harvard ... Named to the America East All-Conference Second Team.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2010): Saw action in all 19 games, starting 15 ... Picked up  assists in a win over Wisconsin-Milwaukee and versus Dartmouth ... Scored his first career goal in a 2-0 victory over Hartford in the regular season finale.

AS A FRESHMAN (2009): Became a familiar face in the backfield for Vermont starting in 15 games during his rookie season ... Has provided UVM with an added weapon as a throw-in specialist ... Recorded two assists on the season ... His first assist came in a 2-2 tie against Hartford.

BEFORE VERMONT: Attended Xavier High School in Middletown, Ct., before attending Worcester Academy in Worcester, Mass ... Played both baseball and soccer at both schools ... Was named All-Conference in 2007 for soccer ... Was an All-State, Conference and Area player for baseball in 2008 as a third baseman.

PERSONAL: The son of Tom and Denise Sweeney ... Is a business administration major.
