SENIOR SEASON (2023): Played in all 14 games as the top faceoff specialist finishing the year with a .648 win percentage at the dot – second-highest in a single season all-time and third in the country … won 201 faceoffs and became Vermont’s all-time leader in ground balls … finished the year with a team-high 111 ground balls … 70-percent or better seven times including 15-for-15 against UMass Lowell … in seven league games was 70.9% at the X … double-digit ground balls four times ... scored lone goal of the season against UMBC … awarded America East Defensive Player of the Week twice … named an honorable mention All-American by the Inside Lacrosse and US Lacrosse Magazine … named America East All-Conference First Team and All- New England Second Team.
JUNIOR SEASON (2022): Played in all 19 games as the top faceoff specialist finishing the year with a .614 win percentage at the dot – second-highest in a single season all-time…won a program record 269 faceoffs and became Vermont’s all-time leader in faceoff wins…finished the year with a team-high 102 ground balls…70-percent or better five times including 19-for-21 against Manhattan in the NCAA Tournament…double-digit ground balls twice... scored lone goal of the season against Bryant…awarded America East Defensive Player of the Week twice…named an honorable mention All-American by the USILA, Inside Lacrosse and US Lacrosse Magazine…named America East All-Conference First Team and All- New England First Team.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2021): Appeared in all 14 games as a faceoff specialist and turned in the finest season in program history ... Named to the America East All-Conference First Team, All-Rookie Team and to the All-New England First Team ... Named the New England Lacrosse Player of the Year - the first Catamount to earn that title ... All-American Honorable Mention from USILA, Inside Lacrosse and US Lacrosse Magazine ... Named the America East Tournament Most Outstanding Player after going a combined 37-for-49 (.755) with 22 ground balls in the tournament ... Won faceoffs at a 70% or better clip nine times ... Finished the season ranked third nationally with a .698 win percentage ... Ranked fifth nationally with 8.93 ground balls per game ... Set the single-season program records for faceoff wins (240), faceoff win percentage and ground balls (125) ... Scored three goals and added two assists for five points ... Went 24-for-34 at Syracuse in the Carrier Dome on March 6 ... Season-best 12-for-13 (92%) at NJIT on March 20 ... Scooped a career-high 16 ground ball in the title game win over UAlbany ... FRESHMAN SEASON (2020): Played in all four games as a faceoff specialist … Led the Catamounts with 26 faceoff wins and 56 faceoffs taken … Recorded season-high 11 faceoff wins, 17 faceoffs taken, and five ground balls in the final game against Dartmouth (Mar. 7) ... Finished the season with eight ground balls. *
BEFORE VERMONT: Played lacrosse and soccer at Millbrook School in Millbrook, NY … Holds the school record faceoff percentage (76%) in 2019 … Won the Millbrook offensive MVP in 2018 … Won the Millbrook head, heart, hustle award in 2019 … Named an inside Lacrosse four star recruit in high school.
PERSONAL: Son of Erin Sayer and stepson of Pete Sayer of Palm Beach, Florida … Younger brother, Christian plays lacrosse … Chose UVM because of the great academic opportunities, stellar campus, and because of the lacrosse team and its coaching staff … his biggest influence as an athlete is his mom because she is a prime example of what it means to work hard and create your own path … Majoring in business administration.
