SENIOR SEASON (2023): Started all 14 games at close defense … finished the year with 12 caused turnovers 32 ground balls … picked up a season-high six ground balls at Binghamton on April 8 … named America East All-Conference First Team and All- New England Second Team.

JUNIOR SEASON (2022): Returned from a knee injury that sidelined him in 2021 to start all 19 games…finished the year with 20 caused turnovers – 5^th most all-time in a single season at UVM – and 49 ground balls…recorded his first career assist at UMass on March 16…named to the America East All-Conference First Team.

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2021): Saw action two games before a knee injury ended his season ... picked up three ground balls and caused a turnover at Bryant (Feb. 27) .

FRESHMAN SEASON (2020): Started all four games on defense in first season … Led the Catamounts with 13 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers … Tallied three ground balls and two caused turnovers in the season opener at Holy Cross (Feb. 15) … Added two ground balls and three caused turnovers against Quinnipiac (Feb. 22) … Posted four ground balls and three caused turnovers against Merrimack (Feb. 29) … Closed the season with four ground balls and two caused turnovers against Dartmouth (Mar. 7). *

BEFORE VERMONT: Played football and lacrosse at Bishop Moore Catholic High School in Orlando, Florida … Tallied 14 goals and three assists on defense as a senior … Captained the lacrosse team for two seasons.

PERSONAL: Son of John and Bethany Canfield of Lake Mary, Florida … Has one younger sister, Jillian … Lists Step Brothers as his favorite movie and Game of Thrones as his favorite show … Chose UVM for the coaching staff, the close bond among the team, and the opportunity to win … Intends to major in Business Administration.
