FINAL SCORE: #18 Vermont 1, Dartmouth 3
BURLINGTON, Vt. – Despite controlling possession for the majority of the second half, No. 18 Vermont (5-1-2) fell to Dartmouth (2-2-1) 3-1 on Saturday night from Burnham Field in the final match of a four-match road trip for UVM. With the result, the Big Green handed the Catamounts their first regular season loss in 693 days.

"Tonight came down to execution," said Head Coach Adrian Dubois. "We created the chances we needed to win the game, but we weren't good enough in the decisive moments. Dartmouth deserves credit, they competed well and punished us when their opportunities came. We have to own the result, learn from it, and be better in those moments moving forward."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Dartmouth was able to get off to a perfect start, orchestrating a fast break that resulted in Ben Bilden scoring 4:36 into the match, earning the Big Green a 1-0 advantage. Dartmouth's opening goal marked the first time in 2026 Vermont had trailed in a match.
- A tricky bounce of the ball inside the six-yard box in Vermont's zone created by the Big Green ultimately ended up in the back of Vermont's net, getting headed in by Eidur Baldvinsson to propel Dartmouth ahead 2-0 in the 37th minute of play.
- The Catamounts quickly responded, scoring in the 38th minute when David Ismail found a sprinting Philipp Schmidtke on an offensive fast break. Schmidtke used his left foot to place his shot in the bottom left corner, securing his second goal of the season to cut the Big Green lead in half, 2-1.
- In the 72nd minute, Trenton Blake found himself on a breakaway one-on-one with Niklas Herceg. With a prime scoring opportunity for Blake, Herceg came out to challenge, making an incredible point-blank save to deny Blake and give the Catamounts a chance to come back.
- Bo Robbins sealed the deal for Dartmouth, scoring his first goal of the season off an athletic volley, extending the Big Green's lead to 3-1.
- Vermont had chances down the stretch to score but could never quite capitalize as Dartmouth held onto the 3-1 advantage until the final buzzer rang.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

- Ismail notched his second assist of the season, putting the forward at eight total points on the season, a team high.
