Men's Lacrosse Falls 12-7 to Binghamton in Season Finale

FINAL SCORE: Binghamton 12, Vermont 7
VESTAL, N.Y. – Max Frattaroli registered his second hat-trick in just as many games on Saturday afternoon, but in the end, Vermont (5-7, 3-3 AE) dropped its season finale to Binghamton (5-8, 3-3 AE) on the road in Vestal, N.Y.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Each squad opened play clamping down on defense, with the Bearcats taking a slight two-goal advantage, 3-1, after 15 minutes of action. Liam Ferris contributed two goals for Binghamton, while Vermont's Sean Steven bulldozed his way to his fourth goal of the season.
  • The Bearcats started the second frame with a quick tally, seeing Ferris record his hat-trick goal on a clever trick play.
  • It didn't take long for Vermont to answer as Sam Bowen fed Steven's for his second goal of the game with 14:15 remaining until halftime, keeping the score at a two-goal difference in favor of Binghamton, 4-2.
  • Max Frattaroli scored two goals in ten seconds with 12:11 remaining on the clock in the second quarter, knotting the game at 4-4 as the Catamounts started to storm back.
  • Binghamton struck twice before the end of the first half as the Bearcats took a two-goal lead into the half, 6-4.
  • The Catamounts got to within one just 3:57 into the third frame, seeing Frattaroli pick up his hat-trick goal with an underhand shot to the back of the net. Luke Reiter collected his second assist of the game on the goal. Binghamton led 6-5.
  • The Bearcats responded, scoring three unanswered goals to conclude the third quarter, taking a 9-5 advantage into the final 15 minutes of action.
  • Ryker Demarest opened the scoring in the final quarter with 12:23 on the clock, scoring his fourth goal of the season after corralling his rebound off an initial shot. The Catamounts cut the lead down to four, trailing 10-6.
  • Zach Davis secured one more tally for Vermont before the final buzzer rang. However, it was not enough as Binghamton secured the 12-7 home victory, clinching a 2025 America East Playoffs spot.

  • Frattaroli notched a hat-trick for the second straight game while tying a game-high in shots on goal, collecting six total.
  • Henry Dodge won a season-high 20 faceoffs, going 20-22 from the faceoff dot against Binghamton.
  • Dodge also corralled a game-high 13 ground balls.
  • Stevens secured his second multi-goal game, scoring two goals against the Bearcats.
  • Dean Driscoll tallied a tied game-high two caused turnovers.
  • Reiter recorded a tied game-high two assists.
  • UVM registered 45 shots to Binghamton's 40, pinning 29 on net to Binghamton's 22.
  • The Catamounts gathered 29 ground balls to the Bearcats 16.
