HOW IT HAPPENED

- Leonard (2nd, 4:37) and Gasseau (2nd, 14:40) added tallies in the second period to give the Eagles a four-goal lead. For Leonard it was his nation-leading 27th goal of the year.
- Timofei Spitserov scored his 11th goal of the season on the power play with 2:12 to play. Colin Kessler cut to the net and Jacob Fowler made an initial stop, but Spitserov tapped home the rebound. Massimo Lombardi earned the secondary assist on the play.Â
